    HISTORY

              The Headquarters & Headquarters Battalion Army (HHBA) was reorganized as Headquarters & Headquarters Support Group, PA (HHSG, PA) effective 20 October 1972, pursuant to Sec 11, GOES Nr 92, and HPA dated 19 October 1972. Upon its organization, HHSG, PA had only five (5) subordinate units namely: Headquarters & Headquarters Service Company (HHSVCo); Headquarters & Headquarters Company (HHCo); 9th Post Engineer Detachment (9PED); Women's Auxilliary Corps Company (WAC Co) and Honor Guard Battalion (HGB). In 1986, WAC Co was reduced to WAC Detachment and was assigned as organic unit to HHSVCo, HHSG, PA. At present, HHSG, PA has nine (9) subordinate units namely: Headquarters & Headquarters Service Company; 9th Post Engineer Detachment; Maintenance Company; 191st Military Police Battalion; 291st Security & Escort Battalion; 1st Provisional Coy; K-9 Coy; 1354th Dental Service and the PA “Task Group Bantay” which is OPCON to the group.

    The Headquarters & Headquarters Support Group  PA - represents the name of unit itself

    The Shield in Blue Color - represents traditional symbol of protection against all threats to liberty, property and the very way of life of the people.

    The Yellow Border of the Shield - symbolizes the units oneness and strong unity enough to accomplish given tasks.

    The Golden Laurels - stand for honor, success and excellence, the exquisite qualities every soldier. We are guided by our own will to provide the real essence of righteousness.

    The Three (3) Stars - represent Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao where personnel from unit come from.

    The Sun - stands for the bright future of unit and its personnel.

    The Letter “K” of Alibata - in the middle of the Sun stands for “Hukbong Katihan ng Pilipinas” where the unit belongs.

    MISSION
        
         To provide administrative, security and service support to Headquarters Philippine Army and to function as station complement of Fort Bonifacio.


    FUNCTION

    • To provide administrative, and organizations support to HPA.
    • Provide security to Fort Bonifacio and its installations as well as to visiting VIPs.
    • Provide maintenance services of utilities, buildings, grounds and motor transport services to HPA.
    • Enforce military laws, post rules and regulations and promote order and discipline within post.
    • To provide escort and security services to HPA.
    • Secure important military and civilian personalities.
    • Provide military ceremonial; conduct limited military operations in urbanized terrain and other special operations.
    • Conduct Civil Disturbance Management when required.
    • Provide band and combo services for HPA- directed ceremonies when required.
    • Provide artillery support to PA maneuver units when required.
    • Assist in calamity/disaster and relief operations in coordination with other Disaster/Relief and Rehabilitation Units.
    • Conduct in-service trainings to organic personnel and post units of HPA.
    • Provide canine support to tactical operations of PA units.
    • Provide dental services to HHSG personnel and its dependents.
    • Provide security and perform reconnaissance for which it is assigned or attached and to engage in offensive, defensive, delaying and economy of force operations as required.
